FRANKENBOK End Of All You Know CD (2011)
Melbourne heavy music has always punched above its weight, and Frankenbok were proof that the local underground could be just as filthy and unhinged as anything coming out of the northern hemisphere.
End Of All You Know, their 2011 full-length, is the sound of groove metal with a bad attitude and zero interest in being palatable. Think down-tuned riffs that feel like being hit with a length of pipe, vocals that oscillate between a sneer and a full-throated roar, and the kind of locked-in rhythmic punishment that makes you want to start a pit in your living room. This is Australian heavy music doing what it does best, dragging the genre somewhere uncomfortable and daring you to follow. If you've ever had King Parrot, Blood Duster, or Mindsnare on rotation, this belongs next to them.
Full-length album on CD, 2011 release. Australian pressing.
