Two Foo Fighters tracks handed to some genuinely interesting collaborators and sent back looking different. This is what Record Store Day is actually for.

"Making A Fire" gets the re-version treatment from members of the Dap-Kings, the Budos Band, Antibalas, and the Tedeschi Trucks Band, which is a lot of heavy soul and Afrobeat firepower pointed at a Grohl riff. "Chasing Birds" gets its own re-version on the B-side. The concept could have gone sideways fast but the lineup here is too serious for it to be a novelty, these are bands with real floors under them. A 7" that rewards actual listening rather than just shelf placement.
