Concept albums about artificial intelligence, totalitarian control, and the death of humanity aren't exactly rare in heavy metal, but Fear Factory built their entire identity around the intersection of industrial brutality and groove-locked precision, and The Industrialist leans hard into that. Burton C. Bell's melodic-to-aggressive vocal swings sit over Dino Cazares's mechanical riffing in a way that still sounds genuinely unlike anyone else working in the alternative metal or industrial space. It's the band doubling down on what they do best: bleak futures, mechanised rage, hooks that land like pistons. Fans of the Demanufacture era will find enough DNA here to satisfy, even if the drums are programmed rather than played.
