The Entombed name was locked in legal limbo, the band had split into two factions arguing over who owned the corpse, and somehow the people who actually showed up to tour and record came out the other side as Entombed A.D. If that sounds messy, the music is anything but.

Back to the Front is the debut under the new name and it sounds exactly like the band that invented death 'n' roll, because it is. L-G Petrov's vocals are still a force of nature, the Swedish death metal crunch is intact, and the album carries that loose, dangerous swagger the original run was known for. This isn't a comeback record scrambling for credibility, it's a band that knows what it is and gets on with it. Essential for anyone serious about the Stockholm scene.
