EC Archives Weird Science Vol Two

Before science fiction became blockbusters and IP, it was Wally Wood drawing space suits and Al Feldstein writing stories where humanity almost always deserved what it got.

Weird Science is EC Publishing's genre at its most unhinged and visionary. Issues 7 through 12, collected here, represent the run where the art and the ideas hit full stride together. Wood's panels are dense, obsessive, genuinely psychedelic in their detail, and the stories underneath them carry that classic EC dark aesthetic: a universe that is indifferent at best and punishing at worst, populated by scientists who should have known better and civilisations that didn't listen. Kurtzman, Kamen, Orlando, Roussos, this was a collective of artists who treated pulp as literature before anyone had given them permission to.
