A Rise To Power, released in 2002, is the Melbourne band's full-length debut proper and one of the more underrated entries in Australian heavy metal history. Where a lot of power metal tips into cheese, Dungeon kept the thrash roots close enough to keep things honest, riff-heavy and driving in a way that nods to Helloween and Metal Church without ever just photocopying them. It is the kind of record that rewards the digger, the kind you find in a milk crate and immediately wonder why you had never heard it before.
