Ronnie James Dio recorded Angry Machines in 1996 and it remains one of the heavier, darker entries in his solo catalogue, less stadium and more grinding intent. The 25th anniversary picture disc brings that rare track to vinyl for the first time on Side A alongside the studio cut of "This Is Your Life", while Side B adds a live recording to round it out. Picture discs are usually for the wall but this one is doing actual work. If your gothic and metal shelves are already carrying Holy Diver and Dream Evil, this fills a gap you didn't know you had.
