DIE HARD Conjure The Legions Vinyl (2012)

Swedish thrash never really died, it just went underground and got meaner. Die Hard are the evidence, a band with one foot in the Teutonic thrash tradition and another planted firmly in the Stockholm death metal soil that made the scene what it was.

Conjure The Legions from 2012 arrived during a thrash resurgence that produced a lot of polished retreads and very few records with actual bite. This is one with bite. Die Hard understood that the genre's power came from its aggression and its working-class refusal to clean up, not from nostalgia cosplay. There's a death metal weight to the production that separates it from the retro-thrash pack, and the songwriting backs it up.
