Australian doom metal from 2006 that didn't get nearly enough attention the first time around. Demons Gate were doing the slow, heavy, gothic thing before half the local scene caught up, and this self-titled EP is the evidence.

Four tracks of brooding, crushing doom with enough atmosphere to fill a cathedral and enough weight to collapse it. Blood And Stone, Kiss Of Fire, Holy Deceiver, Accustomed, each one sitting in that classic doom pocket where everything feels both inevitable and enormous. The 2011 repress gave it a second chance, and if you care about the Australian alternative and metal underground, this is the kind of release that belongs in your collection. Local, heavy, largely overlooked, and genuinely good.
