Glen Benton had already carved an inverted cross into his forehead. That should tell you everything about the energy on this record. From the opening seconds of 'Lunatic of God's Creation' to the relentless churn of 'Sacrificial Suicide', this is death metal with genuine theological conviction, not cosplay. The Tampa scene, the Scott Burns production, the sheer hostile density of it all, this is where death metal stopped being a subgenre and started being a worldview. The Metallic Red White Centurion pressing makes owning it feel appropriately ceremonial.
