DEFTONES My Pony Grey Patch

"My Own Summer" gets all the credit but anyone who sat with Around the Fur knows "My Pony" hits different at 2am when you're not entirely sure what you're feeling. Deftones built a whole career on that particular kind of emotional weather.

This grey patch pulls from the visual language around that era, the kind of thing that reads as insider knowledge on a jacket covered in harder, louder stuff. Deftones always existed slightly outside of alternative metal and nu-metal both, too heavy for one crowd, too atmospheric for the other, which made their fans quietly insufferable about it in the best possible way. Patch placement: somewhere you'll notice it, not somewhere you're showing off.
