DEFTONES Back To School Tour Patch

The Back to School Tour was 1997 and the Deftones were still the weirdest band on the Korn package tour, which is exactly why they outlasted everyone on that bill.

While nu-metal spent the late nineties trying to be hard, the Deftones were absorbing Cocteau Twins and Hum and turning it into something genuinely heavy and genuinely strange. Chino Moreno was doing things with dynamics that nobody else in that scene had the patience for. This tour patch is a document of that era, before White Pony made it undeniable, when they were still a secret the right people kept. Sew it somewhere it gets noticed.
