Winds of Creation dropped in 2000 and immediately made a lot of experienced death metal musicians feel bad about their technique. Decapitated were teenagers from Krosno, Poland, and they recorded this like they had a point to prove to every band on the planet.

This is technical death metal that doesn't lose the brutality chasing complexity. Vitek's drumming alone is the kind of thing that gets discussed in reverent tones by people who know what they're listening to, the kind of polyrhythmic precision that sounds inhuman but hits hard enough to matter. Tracks like Blessed and Cancel of Existence made clear that Poland had something serious going on in its metal underground, and twenty-five years later the record still sounds ahead of its time.
