Most black metal bands want you to understand them. Deathspell Omega do not, and that refusal is exactly the point.

The Synarchy of Molten Bones is the Marseille collective at their most surgically unhinged, four tracks of dissonant, theologically dense French black metal that sounds like the architecture of a cathedral collapsing inward in slow motion. Released through Norma Evangelium Diaboli in 2016, it runs just over half an hour but leaves you feeling like you've been wrung out over several days. The riffs don't resolve. The rhythms don't settle. That's the entire philosophy. If Deathspell are the thinking person's extreme metal band, this is their most concentrated argument.
