DEAD MOON Stranded In The Misery Zone CD

Fred and Toody Cole had already lived several lives in rock and roll before Dead Moon, and it showed. Stranded in the Misery Zone sounds like a band recording in a condemned building because they couldn't imagine doing it any other way.

Released in 1991, this was Dead Moon doing what Dead Moon did, which was take the raw nerve of punk and the ache of country gothic and press them together until something genuinely strange came out the other side. It belongs in the same conversation as Radio Birdman's underground classicism and the Oblivians' swamp-damaged noise, but Dead Moon always sounded like nobody else. They recorded on vintage equipment, pressed their own records, and operated entirely outside the industry's logic. This CD is the document of all that. The punk and alternative underground has always known about them; if you're just arriving, you're welcome.
