Released in 2015 on their own terms, Aesthesis debuted at number one on the ARIA charts without a major label behind it, which tells you everything about where DLC stood in the Australian alternative scene at the time. Kim Benzie's vocals sit somewhere between yearning and defiant, layered over arrangements that reward the kind of listening you do with headphones and nowhere to be.
