Some artists make records that sound like they were born in the wrong decade, drifting somewhere between a New Orleans funeral and a midnight highway with no exits. Dax Riggs is one of them.

Best known as the voice behind Deadboy & the Elephantmen and the earlier acid-swamp sludge of Acid Bath, Riggs went solo and got stranger, not safer. Say Goodnight To The World is blues-infected alt rock that feels genuinely haunted, equal parts Tom Waits grime and Southern gothic dread. It's the kind of dark aesthetic record that gets recommended in whispers, usually by someone with very good taste and a complicated relationship with sleep.
