DARK AGE Acedia CD Album (2009)

Germany's Dark Age spent most of the 2000s quietly building one of the more interesting catalogs in melodic death metal, and Acedia from 2009 is where the groove really locked in.

By this point they'd moved well past straight Gothenburg worship into something with more weight and attitude, closer to mid-era Soilwork or Scar Symmetry than anything you'd shelve under pure death metal. Acedia leans into the melodic side without going soft, with enough metalcore influence to feel contemporary for the era but enough actual riffs to hold up now. If you missed this one on release, it's worth catching up.
