Before the internet gave every band a direct line to their fans, there were interview albums, and almost nobody did them like The Clash. If Music Could Talk is a 1980 promotional artifact that never officially existed for most people, Joe Strummer, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon and Topper Headon talking candidly with their right-hand man Kosmo Vinyl at the peak of their powers, somewhere between London Calling and Sandinista!.

This is the document of a band who genuinely believed punk could change something, and talked about it like they meant it. Not a greatest hits cash-grab or a legacy victory lap, but a raw conversation between people in the middle of making one of the most culturally important runs in rock history. The kind of thing that gets bootlegged, obsessed over, and quoted in fanzines for decades. Now it's finally a proper release.

2021 Record Store Day exclusive, pressed on double vinyl. Originally only available as a promotional release in 1980, this marks its first official commercial pressing.
