CLAN DESTINED, (The) In The Big Ending Vinyl (2016)

Folk metal has always had a problem with sincerity, too many bands hiding behind the concept and not enough of them actually writing songs. The Clan Destined, out of the UK, are an exception worth paying attention to.

In The Big Ending sits in the lineage that Skyclad carved out, heavy but rooted in something older, guitars and folk melody working together without either apologising for the other. This is the kind of alternative record that rewards people who came to metal through history and mythology rather than just volume. Obscure, earnest, and exactly the sort of thing you find in the ALT CVLT bins because nobody else is stocking it.
