CARCASS Reek Of Putrefaction Tee

Reek of Putrefaction came out in 1988 sounding like it was recorded inside a skip bin behind a medical school, and that was completely intentional. Carcass didn't just start a genre, they named it with a medical dictionary and a pathology textbook and made grindcore feel genuinely transgressive.

Bill Steer and Jeff Walker built something out of Liverpool noise that influenced every death metal and goregrind band that followed, from Exhumed straight through to the current wave of surgical death revivalists. This is not background music. This is the dark aesthetic taken to its biological extreme, and wearing this tee is a fairly efficient way to communicate your taste in about three seconds. Napalm Death fans, Autopsy fans, anyone who thinks production values are for other people, this is yours.
