BUG BATH: S/T Vinyl LP

Some bands arrive sounding like they've already figured out the thing most bands spend a decade chasing. Bug Bath's self-titled debut lands somewhere in the overlap between 90s alternative rock, shoegaze drift, and the kind of power pop that leaves a bruise.

The grunge undertow is there, but so is melody, the kind that surfaces through the fog and sticks around after the distortion fades. It sits comfortably alongside the quieter, weirder end of the 90s American underground, less interested in volume for its own sake than in texture and the specific emotional weight of a well-placed chorus. For a debut LP, it's impressively assured without feeling overthought. Good record to put on when you want something with teeth that doesn't need to announce it.
