Alchemy Gothic England pulled this one from the archives, a year 2000 design that was drawing on Renaissance papal iconography at a moment when the gothic scene was deep into its romantic phase. Big, ornate, unsubtle in the best possible way, it carries the visual weight of something that belongs in a reliquary rather than a display case. The blackened detailing against the English pewter gives it that dark cathedral quality that's become central to the gothic and alternative fashion aesthetic, but this predates the trend by decades. It has the specificity of a genuine design, not something reverse-engineered from a mood board.
