Blondie Pop Art Large Carry Tin

Blondie existed at the exact intersection where punk got interesting, CBGB was still a functioning venue, and pop music briefly had actual teeth.

Debbie Harry's face became one of the defining images of late-seventies New York, and this large carry tin uses the pop art treatment that suits her perfectly, bold colour blocks and graphic attitude that sits comfortably in the same visual language as Warhol's Factory output without being derivative about it. Blondie gets overlooked in the punk conversation sometimes because the songs were too catchy and Harry was too photogenic, but this was a band playing alongside Television and Talking Heads at a venue that smelled like a drain. The tin holds more than the round one, which is useful.
