BATHORY Blood On Ice Tee

Before viking metal was a genre with a Wikipedia page, Quorthon was already writing its mythology. Blood on Ice was recorded in the late 80s and sat unreleased for almost a decade, which somehow only made it feel more inevitable when it finally arrived.

The Blood on Ice album art sits in a very specific lineage of black metal and nordic dark aesthetic imagery, the kind that influenced half the Scandinavian scene that came after it and still hits harder than most of what those acts produced.
