AUTOPSY Acts Of The Unspeakable CD (1992)
There is no polite way to discuss Autopsy. That's the point.
Acts of the Unspeakable is the San Jose death metal institution at their most unhinged, a 21-track onslaught from 1992 that runs on amphetamines, horror film obsession, and a complete disregard for what the genre was supposed to sound like. Chris Reifert and company had already given the world Severed Survival and Mental Funeral, but this one leans harder into the grotesque and the chaotic, with songs short enough to feel like jump scares and riffs slow enough to feel like sinking. The dark aesthetic is pure American death metal grime, the kind that influenced every crusty doom-death act that came after it.
CD. Original 1992 release. USA. 21 tracks.
