AURORAN SKYFALL Storms CD (2013)

Australian metalcore in 2013 was a crowded field, but Auroran Skyfall were doing something with atmosphere that most of their contemporaries weren't bothering with. Storms is a six-track release that moves fast and hits hard, melodic enough to have hooks, aggressive enough to mean it.

The tracklist clocks in lean, no filler, no extended intros that outstay their welcome. Nights In Atlantis and Fading Light show the band leaning into the melodic side of metalcore without going soft, while Storm The Beach and Explode True Life keep the aggression anchored. Supporting Australian heavy music is always the right call, and for this price, it's an easy one.
