This is dense, emotionally raw hardcore metal that sits somewhere between post-hardcore's anguish and metal's blunt force. It's the kind of album that rewards the obsessive listener, the one who reads the liner notes and checks what they're listening to at 2am when they should be asleep. Underground as it gets, and that's the point.
