AS I LAY DYING Tragedy Wall Flag

San Diego's As I Lay Dying have one of the more complicated legacies in metalcore, which makes owning their merch feel like a genuine position rather than just wallpaper. Tragedy came out in 2003 and basically set a template that half the scene spent the next decade chasing.

The riffwork on that record, melodic death metal DNA filtered through something rawer and more urgent, still holds up against anything that followed it. This is the flag for the metalcore archaeologist, the person who can tell you exactly where the breakdown at 2:47 sits and why it matters. That person deserves a room that reflects their taste.
