Brighton's Architects made a concept album about the end of the world and somehow also made it about hope. That's a hard trick to pull off without sounding preachy, and they mostly nailed it.

For Those That Wish to Exist (2021) is the record that divided the metalcore faithful and converted a stack of new ones. Sam Carter's vocals carry the weight of the whole collapsing planet across thirteen tracks that swing between post-metal atmosphere, orchestral swell, and the kind of breakdowns that still hit harder than most bands manage on their heaviest day. It's arena-scale darkness done with genuine conviction, not just aesthetic, and it debuted at number one on the UK charts, which almost never happens for a heavy record. Almost.
