Anatomy's 1996 full-length has the kind of raw, grinding energy that deserves to be played loud through a turntable, the needle dragged through grooves that sound like they were cut in a rehearsal room somewhere in the Melbourne underground with the lights off.

This limited vinyl pressing, black wax, 400 copies, is the format this record was built for. Australian black/death metal before the genre became an export commodity, back when it was just a handful of maniacs making the most violent music they could. The lineage is clear: Sadistik Exekution's chaos, Vomitor's filth, Destroyer 666's riff instinct. Anatomy had all of it and they had it first.
