AMORAL Reptile Ride (2007) CD

Finland has been quietly running the table on extreme metal for decades, and Amoral is one of the weirder, more interesting entries in that catalogue. Reptile Ride catches them mid-evolution, pulling between technical death metal and something almost melodic, and not quite settling into either, which is what makes it worth your time.

This is the record for people who find straight power metal too clean and straight death metal too one-note. The Finnish scene has always had a knack for threading that needle, and Amoral do it with enough technical ambition to keep you coming back. Reptile Ride rewards close listening in a way that a lot of genre records from this period don't.
