Produced by Desmond Child and stacked with collaborators including Jon Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Poison and Cheap Trick, Trash became Cooper's commercial peak. Poison went to number two. But underneath the arena sheen, the DNA of shock rock is still intact. Cooper understood that horror and pop have always been the same thing: spectacle, fear, a great hook.
