Vincent Crowley has been running Acheron since 1988, which makes him one of the longest-serving Satanists in death metal, not just philosophically committed but genuinely consistent about it across decades when most bands either burned out or softened up. The Final Conflict, released in 2009, is exactly what the title implies, a record with no interest in compromise.

This is the kind of death/black metal that sits in the American lineage of ugly, no-frills blasphemy, more Morbid Angel than Scandinavian atmospherics, with Crowley's obsession with LaVeyan and Typhonian philosophy baked into every track rather than bolted on as aesthetic.
