Pete Helmkamp spent years in Order From Chaos and Angelcorpse building a reputation for black/death metal that prioritised contempt and violence over accessibility, and Abhomine is exactly the project you'd expect to come out the other side of that resume. Larvae Offal Swine is uncompromising to the point of being genuinely hostile, which is precisely the appeal.

Released in 2016, this is raw, stripped-back black/death metal with no interest in production gloss or approachable hooks. It sits comfortably in the war metal and bestial black metal tradition, the kind of record that gets filed next to Blasphemy and Conqueror in the collections of people who think most extreme metal is still too polite. It's brutal, purposeful, and deeply unfriendly. High praise around here.
