SONIC YOUTH Goo Tee
Goo was the moment Sonic Youth signed to a major and somehow got weirder. 1990. DGC Records. Raymond Pettibon's drawing on the cover. The noise kids were suspicious and the indie kids were confused and it was correct on both counts.
Kim Gordon, Thurston Moore, Lee Ranaldo, and Steve Shelley made records that treated the guitar like a crime scene, and Goo is where that instinct met actual hooks. Kool Thing, Dirty Boots, Mote. It influenced the entire grunge and alternative underground and did so without ever sounding like it was trying to be commercial. Magic Dirt grew up on this. So did half the Melbourne underground. Wearing it now is still a flex.
Official licensed Sonic Youth merch. Standard unisex tee, available in Small. Imported.
