POISON IDEA: Feel The Darkness Vinyl 2LP

There's a version of American hardcore punk that is fat, drunk, furious, and completely sincere about all of it, and Poison Idea made the definitive document of that version. Feel the Darkness came out in 1990 and promptly embarrassed most of what was happening in punk at the time.

Portland's Poison Idea were never interested in being presentable. Jerry A. and company played hardcore like they had nothing to lose and probably meant it, and Feel the Darkness is where that attitude hit its peak, a double record of blown-out, propulsive, occasionally anthemic punk that influenced more bands than will ever admit it. This 2024 remaster on black vinyl is the right way to revisit it, loud and in a room with the curtains drawn. Essential to any serious punk or alternative collection.
