Lemmy was already a force of nature by 1979, but this was the year Motörhead stopped being a band people argued about and became a religion people joined.

Overkill had just dropped. The live shows were getting genuinely dangerous. A gig at Harrow Road in that window sits right at the hinge point where punk and metal stopped fighting each other and became the same ugly, beautiful thing. This poster is a document. The kind of thing that belongs on the wall of anyone who owns a leather jacket with honest miles on it and has a strong opinion about the Bomber drum solo.
