New Orleans has a way of making sludge feel like a geological event rather than a music genre, and HAARP understood that completely.

Husks is three tracks and forty minutes of slow, crushing sludge-doom that sits in the tradition of the city's heaviest exports, think Crowbar and EyeHateGod but with a post-metal bleakness that gives the whole thing room to breathe and suffocate in equal measure. The digipak format suits it, something this deliberate deserves physical media. Three songs, three different corners of misery: Deadman, Rabbit, Bear Fox. Total runtime 40:15. Not a record in a hurry to get anywhere.
