Bell alternated between melodic vocal hooks and sheer aggression in a way that still sounds like it shouldn't work as well as it does. Shock, Edgecrusher, Descent, the sequencing holds. The album gave the metal and industrial crossover scene a genuine landmark, and it has not aged out.
